NAFSA’s Executive Internationalization Leadership e-Institute (e-Institute) provides executive-level internationalization leadership training for international education professionals responsible for implementing internationalization at their institutions. The program is designed for leaders with more than three years of experience who are currently in an internationalization leadership role at institutions of higher education in the United States and around the world.
The e-Institute is led by global campus internationalization experts who have managed internationalization initiatives, published extensively, and presented at numerous workshops, forums, and conferences. Individualized mentorship and assistance will enable each participant to develop leadership skills and strategies unique to their needs.
The 2026-27 e-Institute cohort will run from the end of July/early August 2026 through July 31, 2027. Learn more

Complimentary Conference Registration
Participants in the 2026-27 e-Institute cohort will receive complimentary conference registration for the NAFSA 2027 Annual Conference & Expo in Los Angeles, California. At the conference, participants will gather for an in-person seminar as part of the e-Institute academic program. The dates will be Monday, May 31 to Friday, June 4, 2027. Please note that the complimentary conference registration cannot be transferred to another individual or to a future conference. It only applies to the NAFSA 2027 Annual Conference & Expo.
Available Discounts
NAFSA is excited to offer special discounts for the 2026-27 e-Institute cohort. NAFSA will verify applicants' eligibility during the application process. Discounts can be combined as eligibility is verified, and are not transferable. Discounts being offered include:
- 10% discount for early bird registration. Apply and register for the e-Institute program before or by June 18, 2026 to receive this discount.
- 10% discount for accepted applicants working at community colleges.
- 10% discount for accepted applicants with previous participation in the NAFSA Academy and/or Management Development Program (MDP). This discount only applies once and participation in multiple programs does not increase the discount percentage.
- 45% discount for accepted applicants who are NAFSA members and citizens and residents of United Nations-designated Least Developed Countries.
Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation requests must be made in writing through our Academic Affairs & Internationalization Form no later than 2 weeks before the live start date of the e-institute.
- There is a $100 cancellation fee if the cancellation request is received in writing at least 3 days before the live start date of the e-Institute.
- Refunds minus the cancellation fee, if approved, will be processed 2 to 4 weeks after the cancellation has been approved.
- If payment is made by credit card, a credit will be issued to your credit card account; otherwise, a refund check will be issued.
- No refunds will be issued if the cancellation request is made less than 3 days before the live start date of the e-institute.
- Requests for all other changes to registration must be made in writing through our Academic Affairs & Internationalization Form and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
