NAFSA Town Hall: Elimination of Duration of Status- Implications and Actions

On July 16, 2026, the Department of Homeland Security issued the public inspection copy of its final
rule to end the Duration of Status (D/S) policy. Please join NAFSA’s regulatory and policy experts in a NAFSA members-only town hall event to learn more about the elimination of the D/S rule and how this will significantly impact the field of higher education and international students and exchange visitors. Our staff will provide an overview of our regulatory analysis, what members and institutions can do to adapt and advocate for better policy.

The webinar will be recorded, and the recording will be available to NAFSA members soon after the live event.
